3 Quotes 3 Days (Challenge)- Day 3

Alright people. Today’s the ultimate day of the challenge. (For the rules, please click here). And now  I present to you one of my favorite sonnets.

This one by Elizabeth Barrett Browning is a charmer. I fall in love with it everytime I read it. Written for her husband, Robert Browning, this sonnet encapsulates not only the love that she felt for him, but in my view, the general sentiments of mankind regarding love.

So, enjoy. 🙂

“How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.

I love thee to the depth and breadth and height

My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight

For the ends of being and ideal grace.

I love thee to the level of every day’s

Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.

I love thee freely, as men strive for right.
